Life Coaching & Functional Nutrition
I often get asked 'what actually happens in life coaching?' Below is an overview of my coaching process and approach.
Coaching sessions are tailored to your needs and goals. Sessions are driven by what is of most importance to you at any given time, and I will use my expertise and knowledge to guide and support you to fully achieve whatever it is that you are aiming for.
If you prefer, you can also follow a set programme of life coaching which means that each session each week covers a set and particular life issue (e.g. stress/sustaining habits/life values), and provides you with the skills, tools and self-development to help you feel stronger, more confident, healthier, happier and more focused in yourself and on living the life you want, with a toolkit to take away that helps keep you on track.
As an example, a series of coaching sessions may equip you with the skills & tools to:
1) Cope effectively with stress & overwhelm - Learn amazing tools to keep stress in check & manage anxiety
2) Re-balance the different areas of life & find much needed time for yourself - Regain that life balance
3) Overcome the ingrained, habitual patterns that might be holding you back - Understand your mindset and how important it is in everything we do
4) Create mental clarity & focus - Get organised, focused and clear on what you really want and in your daily life
5) Motivate & guide you to adopt healthy habits of mind, body and food - Learn the power of mini habits and how to sustain them
6) Create healthy boundaries so that you can sustain the change you create - Learn to say no without guilt, shame, worry or stress
7) Boost your confidence and find new energy - Eat, move and breathe well
8) Improve your communication with loved ones - Learn powerful tools of communication
Ultimately my goal is to help you feel more energised, healthier, driven, happier and more balanced. With a renewed mindset and greater confidence. With tools for stress management, healthy habit formation and life goals.
All sessions are conducted online via Zoom. If you live locally, there is the possibility to meet up in person at a cafe or in a walk and talk session.

Support
I offer everyone an initial free coaching session in which we will discuss your needs and how the coaching journey can help you. I truly believe coaching has to feel right, and this session gives you the opportunity to see if I am the right coach for you. If you choose to go ahead, we can work out which coaching option in terms of package length and content best suits your needs and desires. I also offer set packages - see my offers page for more information.
The first and last session in all coaching packages is 90 minutes, to allow time for formalities and any questions so that these do not impinge on the actual coaching session. All other sessions in a chosen package are 60 minutes.
I provide support & accountability between coaching sessions via email and WhatsApp. I also provide you with session summaries and worksheets.
Holistic Approach
My approach to coaching is Holistic. This means that we explore how the different parts of your life inter-relate and impact on one another. We look at your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual (meaning 'our sense of purpose in life') wellbeing.
Often when there is an imbalance in one area, it ripples out and affects another and this has a knock on affect in how you feel and show up in the different areas of your life and how you show up for yourself.
Central to this is our Mind-Body connection.
Our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, attitudes and memories can positively or negatively affect our physical body and impact on how we physically feel and how healthy we are.
In turn, what we do with our bodies, e.g. what we eat, how we move, our posture, how we breathe, can impact on our mental and emotional wellbeing.
In this way our body and mind operate as one, communicating via our central nervous system and affecting all other systems in the body.
Our thoughts and beliefs can sometimes be so ingrained and habitual that we don't notice how our negative self-talk impacts our choices, our decision-making, and therefore our behaviours and ultimately how we feel day to day on so many levels.
Only by becoming more aware and mindful of our thought patterns, our habits, our belief systems, can we start to create positive change in mind and body. And more importantly sustained change, otherwise we stay stuck in the same unhelpful patterns and loops. Coaching supports this process and I have experienced first hand the power of becoming mindful of thought patterns. This is why taking a holistic approach to change is important.
In my coaching I use a range of tools and techniques from Mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) & Positive & Behavioural Psychology. A big part of the journey is learning to step off autopilot. To be able to live more mindfully in your daily life and with intention and in line with your core values. The things that are most important to you. Your non-negotiables in life. When we live by our values our goals become much easier to attain.
Functional Nutrition
I am also passionate about mindful eating and gut health and the importance of this in managing overwhelm and in our overall wellbeing. When we are rushed, overwhelmed, or stressed, we can forget to look after ourselves and to eat well. When we are better nourished we become less stressed. This is also why I also offer functional nutrition as part of my coaching.
My main focus in functional nutrition coaching sessions is on helping people overcome unwanted/unhealthy snacking and 'sugar addiction' through a mindful eating approach. I can help you regulate your blood sugars, overcome your cravings and develop new ways of eating. I also support you to make nutritional changes that have huge benefits.
My approach focuses on transforming your awareness of how and why you eat the way you do. It is about embracing self-compassion in relation to food and finding balance, rather than focusing on strict withdrawal or restriction (dieting).
I can help you dismantle old habit loops and eating habits that don't serve you and that keep you trapped in an unwanted cycle. Over time your intuition develops and healthy choices become easier. I can help you set up a way of eating that makes you feel good.
